Riversong Inn Retreat | Intimate Wedding in Estes Park, Colorado

Tuesday, May 12th, 2026

Some wedding days feel less like an event and more like a gathering of the people who matter most.

Emily and Andy’s intimate Estes Park wedding at Riversong Inn Retreat was exactly that.

Tucked alongside the river with the mountains rising in the distance, they spent their wedding day surrounded by their closest friends and family, trading traditional wedding expectations for a day that felt relaxed, meaningful, and entirely their own.

One of my favorite things Emily and Andy chose to do was add a pre-wedding adventure session to their wedding weekend. They arrived in Estes Park the day before their intimate wedding and spent the evening exploring Rocky Mountain National Park together. By choosing a separate outfit for the adventure session and saving their wedding attire for their ceremony at Riversong Inn the next day, they were able to enjoy two completely different experiences. Not only did it allow us to capture mountain portraits without feeling rushed, but it also gave them extra time to slow down, explore, and take in some of Colorado’s most incredible scenery before officially saying “I do.”

A Slow Morning at Riversong Inn

One of my favorite things about intimate weddings is the freedom to slow down.

Rather than rushing from appointment to appointment, Emily and Andy spent the first part of their day enjoying lunch with their closest family and friends at Riversong Inn. Guests gathered around tables sharing stories, catching up, and soaking in the excitement of the day ahead.

The atmosphere felt less like a formal wedding and more like a meaningful weekend spent with the people they love most.

Every detail reflected their personalities, from the cozy mountain setting to the thoughtful vintage touches woven throughout the day.

Vintage Details & Meaningful Moments

One of the most memorable details from Emily and Andy’s wedding was a collection of thrifted vintage bells.

After they exchanged vows and officially became husband and wife, family and friends rang the bells to celebrate their new marriage. The sound echoed through the property as everyone laughed, hugged, and gathered around them.

It was simple, personal, and completely unique to them.

These are often the moments couples remember most, not elaborate decor or strict timelines, but the small traditions that feel authentic to who they are.

A Riverside Ceremony in Estes Park

Surrounded by towering pines, flowing water, and the people who knew them best, Emily and Andy exchanged vows at Riversong Inn.

The beauty of hosting an intimate wedding at a place like Riversong is that everything feels connected. There is no rushing between venues or spending hours in traffic. Your getting ready space, ceremony location, portraits, dinner, and celebration can all happen in one place.

Instead of feeling pulled in multiple directions, couples get to stay present and fully enjoy the experience. And that’s exactly what Emily and Andy did.

Why Estes Park is Perfect for Intimate Weddings

Estes Park offers the perfect combination of mountain scenery, accessibility, and charming lodging options.

Couples can enjoy breathtaking Rocky Mountain views while still providing a comfortable experience for guests traveling from out of town.

Whether you’re planning a private elopement, a micro wedding, or an intimate celebration with family and friends, Estes Park gives you access to:

  • Mountain views without a strenuous hike
  • Beautiful lodging properties that can host guests onsite
  • Easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park
  • Scenic rivers, forests, and alpine lakes
  • Incredible opportunities for sunrise and sunset portraits

For couples wanting a wedding weekend experience rather than a single event, Estes Park is hard to beat.

Things to Know About Hosting a Wedding at an Airbnb / VRBO in Estes Park

Not every AirBNB / VRBO allows weddings or events.

Before booking a vacation rental for your wedding, there are a few important things to consider:

Confirm Events Are Allowed

Many vacation rentals prohibit events, even small weddings. Always communicate directly with the property owner before booking and get approval in writing.

Check Guest Capacity

Make sure the property can comfortably accommodate both overnight guests and wedding attendees.

Understand Noise Restrictions

Many mountain properties have quiet hours or neighborhood regulations that may impact receptions and celebrations.

Parking Matters

Mountain properties often have limited parking. Be sure to ask about guest parking and transportation options.

Have a Backup Weather Plan

Colorado weather can change quickly, especially in the mountains. Look for properties that offer indoor spaces or covered areas in case of rain.

Consider Vendor Access

Ask about loading areas, setup restrictions, and vendor requirements before finalizing plans.

Think Beyond the Wedding Day

One of the best parts about an Airbnb wedding is creating a full wedding weekend experience. Welcome dinners, morning coffee with family, post-wedding brunches, and quality time together often become some of the most memorable parts of the celebration.

Best Places for Wedding Photos Near Estes Park

One of the biggest benefits of getting married at an Airbnb or vacation rental in Estes Park is the ability to combine your wedding day with nearby adventure locations.

Here are some of my favorite portrait locations around Estes Park:

Rocky Mountain National Park

Perfect for couples wanting dramatic mountain views, alpine lakes, winding roads, and iconic Colorado scenery.

Sprague Lake

An easy-access lake with beautiful mountain reflections and stunning sunrise light.

Moraine Park

Wide-open mountain views with plenty of room to explore and incredible sunset light.

Upper Beaver Meadows

A quieter location that often offers wildlife sightings, expansive views, and fewer crowds.

Riverwalk Areas Around Estes Park

The rivers running through Estes Park create beautiful portrait opportunities, especially during blue hour and sunset.

Your BNB Property

Honestly, don’t overlook this one. Some of my favorite images from intimate weddings happen right where couples are staying. Riverside cabins, mountain-view decks, wildflower fields, cozy porches, and forested trails can make for incredibly meaningful photos without ever leaving the property.
